Seven Fountains is a piece created during our two months stay in Bad Ems - a famous wellness resort in the south of Germany. A week long "relaxation" cycle, where each fountain became both a still life and a place, is a piece about a rather fashionable concept of “wellness”. Recognizable domestic objects hidden behind a layer of white ceramic tiles and accompanied by a water feature are ironic commentaries on the aesthetic of wellness institutions: beauty cabinets, saunas, relaxation' and shower rooms. 19th century Fountain Hall in Bad Ems with its healing fountains in opulent surroundings has inspired this project.
