Green Organism

Installation, 2002

Exploration of naturally growing organisms, such as ivy plants and mosses lies at the core of this installation. We are inspired by the way these plants contaminate and transform spaces they occupy. The piece consists of fabric string bags in different shades of green, transparent plastic bags and a sewing machine. Green bags remind of “molecules”, “self reproducing cells”, insects and leafs... The viewers are tempted to go into a space, where sewing machine keeps working and producing even more of these bags while making a familiar monotonous sound...
