Collecting the City
Sight-specific installation for the Tempelhof Museum, Berlin, 2016
Sight specific, painterly Installation "Collecting the City" was created for the Tempelhof Museum - a somewhat nostalgic museum of local history in Berlin Alt-Mariendorf. The exhibition brings together three distinctly different places in Berlin: Bode Museum, Mauer Park flee-market and our studio in Mitte. The exhibition space was temporarily transformed into our studio: floor and walls were painted, so that the paintings on thin aluminum panels coud be viewed as objects in a creative environment. We associate our artistic practice with the process of collecting and view these three locations as sources of inspiration for our ongoing eclectic and fragmentary collections.
